Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-11-02

This is a translation. If it differs from the Traditional Chinese version, the Traditional Chinese version prevails, except where the law where you live requires otherwise.

In short: your code and repository contents stay on your computer and are never uploaded. We collect only what accounts, licensing, payments and crash diagnosis need, and we never sell personal data. The website sets no cookies until you click "Sign in".

1. Scope and controller

This policy explains how personal data is handled on the ADGitter website, in the ADGitter desktop app, and in related online services.

The controller responsible for your personal data is Another Dream Technology Co., Ltd. (異想科技有限公司), 2F., No. 143, Anxiang Rd., Xindian Dist., New Taipei City 231, Taiwan (R.O.C.), email support@anotherdream.tw.

2. What we collect

Website

The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. To deliver pages and keep the service secure, GitHub logs technical data such as visitors' IP addresses. The website uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

Sign-in on the website is provided by Clerk. Only after you click "Sign in" does the website load Clerk's sign-in components, and only then does Clerk set the cookies needed to keep you signed in.

Repositories and code

Every Git operation runs on your own computer. Your code, commits and repository data are never sent to us or to any third party.

Account

The core features need no account. Paid features require signing in, which is provided by Clerk. We receive your email address, display name and account ID.

Purchases

Payments are handled by Polar, the merchant of record. Card and other payment details are collected directly by Polar and its payment processors, and we never see full card numbers. We receive your email address, the plan or theme you bought, the number of seats on a team plan, and order, subscription and refund status.

Licensing and devices

To enforce each plan's device limit, the app creates a random device ID for each installation. We store that ID, your plan and when the device last connected. The ID contains no hardware serial numbers or personal information.

Free trial

So that each computer gets only one free trial, the app reads the computer identifier your operating system provides, hashes it irreversibly on your computer, and sends us only the hash. We store that hash and when the trial started, to tell whether the computer has had a trial. We do not use it to identify you.

Teams (Enterprise)

Team members and invitations are managed with Clerk's organizations feature. We store which teams you belong to, your role, when you joined and whether you hold a seat. Team admins can see members' display names, email addresses, roles and seat status. Members can see the team's name and the other members.

Crash reports

Only if you agree, the app sends crash and error reports through Sentry. A report contains the app version, operating system, error code and error message, plus a randomly generated installation ID. That ID holds no name or email, but it links reports from the same installation, so the reports are pseudonymous rather than anonymous. Email addresses and file paths are removed from messages before sending, and no code or diffs are included.

Ads (free version only)

On first launch, the free version asks whether you agree to see ads and send crash reports. If you agree, one ad from Carbon Ads loads at the bottom of the window. It runs in an isolated frame with no access to your repositories, but Carbon Ads receives your IP address and browser information. If you decline, the ad space stays empty. Paid plans load no third-party ad code.

Support and complaints

When you email us or open a support ticket, we receive what you send and your contact details.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Accounts, licensing, paid features and teams: to perform our contract with you.
  • Purchases, refunds and billing questions: to perform the contract and to comply with accounting and tax law.
  • Preventing repeat trials, fraud and abuse, and keeping systems secure: our legitimate interests. You may object.
  • Crash reports and ads in the free version: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in the Software's settings.
  • Answering your questions, support requests and complaints: to perform the contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to you.

We do not sell personal data, we do not use your data to build advertising profiles, and we make no automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

4. Service providers

We share data only with the providers needed to run the service. GitHub, Clerk, Fly.io and Sentry process it only on our instructions; Polar and Carbon Ads also process data in their own right, under their own privacy policies:

  • GitHub: website hosting.
  • Clerk: account sign-in on the website and in the app, and team members and invitations.
  • Polar: payments, tax, receipts and refunds, as the merchant of record; Polar also processes transaction data in its own right.
  • Fly.io: hosts our API servers in the United States.
  • Sentry: crash reports, with your consent.
  • Carbon Ads: ads in the free version, with your consent.

5. International transfers

We are in Taiwan and these providers process data mainly in the United States, so your data leaves your country. For data from the EU, the UK or other places that require safeguards for transfers, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or their certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

6. Cookies

The website uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Only after you click "Sign in" does Clerk set the strictly necessary cookies that keep you signed in; once you sign out, they no longer represent a session.

7. Retention

  • Account, license, device and team data are kept until you delete your account. When you leave a team, your membership record for that team is deleted.
  • Trial records (the hash of a computer identifier) are kept for as long as we offer the free trial, to stop the same computer from repeating it.
  • Crash reports are kept only as long as needed to fix the problem.
  • Transaction records are kept for the periods required by accounting and tax law, mainly by Polar.
  • Complaint and support records are kept for 3 years after they are closed, in case of later disputes.

8. Your rights

Depending on the law where you live, you can:

  • access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data deleted;
  • restrict processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • receive the data you gave us in a common electronic format, or have it sent to another provider (portability);
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing before the withdrawal;
  • complain to your local data protection authority (for example the ICO in the UK).

Email support@anotherdream.tw. We answer requests to access or copy your data within 15 days and other requests within 30 days, or sooner if the law where you live requires it.

Account and payment data are needed to provide the paid services; without them you cannot use paid features, but the free core features need no account.

9. Privacy contact

Our officer for personal data and complaints is Lin Hung-Li, reachable at support@anotherdream.tw. The same person acts as the privacy and complaints contact that local laws require (for example India's grievance officer and Korea's chief privacy officer).

10. Children

Our services are not designed for children under 13 (or an older age where local law sets one), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.

11. Changes

We may update this policy and will change the effective date on this page. We will tell you about material changes in advance by email or in the Software.

12. Contact

For any privacy question, email support@anotherdream.tw. See also the Terms of Service and Company information.
